East of 52 is committed to truth, transparency, and the public interest. If a factual error is discovered in our reporting, we will investigate promptly and issue corrections or clarifications where warranted.
2. Anonymous Sources
Some reports may include anonymous sources for their safety or privacy. We do not disclose the identities of anonymous sources under any circumstance, except where legally compelled by a court order.
3. Source Protection
East of 52 exercises standard journalistic protections for source confidentiality, including digital and physical safeguards. Requests for corrections do not entitle requestors to access protected source data or unpublished internal records.
4. Defamation & Fair Reporting
All articles are written in good faith based on available facts at the time of publication. Reporting on public figures, institutions, and events is conducted under protections afforded by California’s Anti-SLAPP statutes and fair reporting privileges.
5. User Submissions

8. No Right to Removal
Requesting a correction does not guarantee alteration or removal of content. We do not remove published stories except in rare cases of verifiable legal risk, mistaken identity, or proven falsification.

East of 52 does not alter or retract stories in response to pressure from public officials, political entities, or institutions. All corrections are made solely on the basis of factual accuracy and public interest.
